HydraFacial uses advanced, patented vortex technology to deeply cleanse the skin and effectively deliver botanical ingredients containing nutrients such as hyaluronic acid, horse chestnut seed extract, red algae extract, copper, zinc, and magnesium peptides to where they do the best.
In addition, HydraFacial also delivers powerful antioxidants to counteract damage by free radicals – from pollution, sun, and stress – which can degrade the skin and accelerate the ageing process.
The six steps to HydraFacial are:
At Berkshire Aesthetics we have 8 years of experience delivering the six step HydraFacial. In that time we have developed two amazing skincare packages including:
1. HydraFacial Plus+
The standard six-step HydraFacial combined with manual extraction. While the standard HydraFacial protocol will clean your skin the effectiveness of manual extraction cannot be replaced. We therefore offer as part of our HydraFacial treatment full manual extraction to ensure our patient’s skin is cleaned effectively.
2. HydraFacial Deluxe
The ultimate HydraFacial experience which adds one skin booster treatment and a Dermalux session. The combination of the six-step HydraFacial with the skin booster, manual extraction and topped off with the Dermalux ensures our patients leave after their session glowing with healthy skin.

HydraFacial can be used to treat a variety of skincare needs, including:
HydraFacial consists of a 6 step process; Detox, Deep cleanse and exfoliation, Acid Peel, Extraction, Hydrate and Rejuvenation. The treatment starts off with lymphatic drainage to improve the skins circulation and to drain away toxins. It then deep cleanses the skin using a gentle vacuum and abrasive tip to exfoliate dead skin cells and excess sebum from the skin. Next, a Glysal peel is applied onto the skin which is a mix of salicylic and glycolic acids which help to break up any dirt and oil that is clogging the pores. The HydraPeel tip is then used to vacuum out any blackheads, dirt oil and impurities in a gentle fashion without causing any breakage of the skin and discomfort to the patient. Once the skin has been deeply cleansed a blend of hyaluronic acid and antioxidant infused serum is applied to the skin to deeply hydrate and nourish the skin. Lastly a multifunction LED light mask is applied on to the skin for more skin rejuvenation and soothing.
The HydraFacial treatment is suitable for all skin types. At Berkshire Aesthetics we offer 6 different HydraFacial protocols which have been designed to treat different types of skin conditions.
The treatment duration depends on the recommended protocol.
The standard HydraFacial ‘skin health for life’ protocol is 60 minutes and the HydraFacial treatments with booster serums are 90 minutes.
The HydraFacial treatment is very comfortable and relaxing for the patient. Patients will feel a gentle vacuum suction and abrasion on the skin from the hand piece.
A mild tingling sensation may also be present during the application of the Glysal peel.
The amount of treatments needed is dependent on the individual and their skin condition. Usually a course of 6 treatments will be recommended at 4 to 6 week intervals for optimal results. Many of our patients however choose to have one every month to ensure their skin remains healthy and the treatment really is a great little boost for your skin.
Prior to treatment, patients are advised to avoid excessive sun exposure at least 2 weeks prior to course of treatment.
Patients are advised to avoid deep depth chemical peels and laser resurfacing 4-6 weeks prior to treatment. Superficial/medium depth peels should be completed 2 weeks prior to HydraFacial.
Patients are advised to follow a skincare routine recommended by their practitioner to achieve best treatment results.
Yes, HydraFacial is a very safe treatment which involves no downtime. As the machine only uses safe vortex pressure and serums for extractions there is no risk of scarring or post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
The HydraFacial treatment involves no downtime. Some patients may occasionally experience mild redness post treatment which should subside within 24hours.
The risk of side effects occurring from HydraFacial is very low. Your therapist will check your suitability to treatment and contraindications prior to the treatment to minimise the risk of complications occurring. Some of the possible side effects include an allergic reaction to the HydraFacial serums (some serums contain shellfish and aspirin derivatives – these will be discussed during your consultation and prior to any treatment being offered)
Results can be seen immediately after the first treatment. The skin will appear fresh, rejuvenated and hydrated; this effect will usually last up to 2 weeks. Optimal results are seen after the full course of 6 treatments. Results can be maintained by undertaking the treatment on a monthly basis and as part of a good skin health routine.
Following a HydraFacial treatment patients are advised to keep their skin free of makeup and to avoid heated treatments for at least 24 hours. Patients are also advised to continue using the recommended skincare regime in order to promote further hydration and rejuvenation to their skin. Additionally patients should avoid sun exposure and use a broad spectrum sunscreen every day.
